What are perfumes? Bouquet of notes? Careful mixture of chemicals? Result of alchemy? A perfume is more than just its scent, it is a whispered story. It has the power to capture and encapsulate a moment in time. A moment in your life. Years — sometimes decades — later, you are able to go to a precise moment in your past based on the scent. It is not just an aroma, but a word in a forgotten diary. A sun-drenched orchard, moonlit gardens, laughter with your loved ones, the scent of your mother, first farewell and so much more. From a perfume’s perspective, it is all about the story — for if you remove the story, there’s nothing left in the bottle. This blog is all about perfumes, perfumers, perfume houses, and perfume notes. Welcome! Over the years, I have learnt a bit not just on the experience of wearing perfumes, but also about the ingredients, the industry, the market, the manufacturing process and so much more.
